Most people, when they are faced with a mould problem in their home or business, don't know where to start or who to trust. They need to know:
- How do I get an air test to see if I have a problem and how bad is it?
- Once I know the problem, how do I get it fixed?
- Since there seem to be no certification standards how do I know the suppliers I choose are any good?
- How do I know that the price they quote is fair?
- Once they have finished how do I know the problem is gone?
The Indoor Air Quality Network (IAQN)* provides advice and a network of approved suppliers in the area of indoor air quality testing (to detect contaminates) and remediation (to remove it) in homes and offices. These contaminates include:
- MOULD
- ASBESTOS
- BACTERIA
- HIGH LEVELS OF CO2 (WINTER)
The IAQN can co-ordinate Certified Specialists to be on your site within 24 hours.
By contacting a mould expert at IAQN you can get guidance on the costs of getting the work done and advice on how to make sure that it is done right.
In the course of inspection, testing, and remediation of these contaminates, the customer is often in need of specialized Companies to both test and restore their place of residence or work. IAQN does not directly provide the testing or repairs that are necessary to rectify our customers' problems. We assess and provide recommendations, and oversee all activities between you the customer and the service providers bringing you together with the contractors equipped to deal with their areas of expertise in a mold or contaminates situation. Typically these needed skills are:
- Air Quality Testing
- Mould Remediation
- Roofing
- Plumbing
- Electrical Contracting
- Flooring
- Insulation
- Asbestos Abatement
The important thing to know is that we recommend, negotiate with, and oversee but do not hire these companies - the customer does.
The IAQN provides a service to the customer to:
- Recommend, co-ordinate, and monitor a certified Air Quality Inspector to determine the contamination problem in their premises.
- Based on the results of these inspections recommend, co-ordinate, and monitor Contractors to remediate if necessary.
- Negotiate contract terms and price with all Contractors.
- Provide the Contractors with the necessary information for the removal of the contaminants.
- Oversee all stages of the project to ensure customer satisfaction.
With IAQN, both customers and contractors are on a level playing field and the benefits are for both parties involved with the contract.
- IAQN will start with a free consultation to determine whether you need an inspection to identify the source of a problem.
- If an inspection is required then IAQN will recommend Air Quality Specialists in your area that you can contract with to supply air testing if required.
- From these findings IAQN will co-ordinate and negotiate pricing with the selected Air Quality Specialist to provide the customer with a written report known as an Indoor Air Quality Assessment that will outline what the cause(s) are for their problem.
- If this report indicates the necessity of remediation, then IAQN will recommend Remediation Specialists in your area. We can then negotiate, on the customer's behalf, the contract and pricing with one of these or your own Specialist.
- If it is felt that after the remediation a follow-up air quality test is required, IAQN will co-ordinate on the customer's behalf to bring back the AIR Quality Specialist. It is recommended that there should be a holdback of final payment to the remediation company until this final clearance test is completed.
